DEA Special Agent Cuevas, 26, stands at 5'10" tall, weighs about 140lb and has dark brown hair and green eyes. He started working for the DEA (Drug Enforcement Administration) after graduating community college at the age of 21. As a DEA Agent, Cuevas investigates violations of federal law dealing with controlled substances, illegal narcotics, and drug abuse. Currently, he is involved with the Special Operations (Task Forces), and does surveillance and/or undercover work. He lives alone in Brooklyn and drives a Cadillac SRX crossover. |
Adrien Gustavo Cuevas was born to Alejandro Cuevas and Christina Walker in New York. He is the only child and grew up in the Bronx, New York City. He had an active childhood, full of neighborhood basketball games and skateboarding. At the age of nine, he developed an all-consuming fear of enclosed spaces and darkness when he fell down a grating and into a deep drain. He broke his leg and couldn't climb up and was trapped for close to five hours before help arrived. He had nightmares for years regarding that incident, and even as he grew older, he never learned to overcome his fear. As a kid, he enjoyed watching a lot of cop movies but never wanted to be a cop, initially, wanting to pursue a career as a lawyer, like his mother. He also enjoyed watching science fiction movies and once declared an interest in becoming an astronaut. At the age of twelve, Cuevas started hanging out with the wrong crowd. His gang of thugs got into a lot of trouble with the cops back then, and this went on for years until his cousin brother, Pablo, died at the age of fourteen due to a drug related shootout. The incident had a severe impact on the Cuevas family, especially Adrien, who at the time was sixteen. The subsequent investigation turned up with no evidence and the guilty party was soon released. Adrien vowed to avenge his cousin's death. |
The death of his cousin brother became the main consuming drive of his life. Cuevas graduated from high school and entered a local community college, graduating with a Law Enforcement and Criminal Justice Degree four years later. At 21, Cuevas entered a 16 week rigorous DEA training program at the FBI Academy in Quantico, Virginia. After completing his training, he was placed under one year of probation and started his work in the Laboratory Services Unit before moving on to join the Special Operations (Task Forces). |
Investigating drug organizations involves human and technical intelligence, coordination with the criminal justice system and a close partnership with domestic and foreign law enforcement. Cuevas is a talented agent who is skilled in both tactical combat and the use of firearms. So far, he's been lucky; he's only been injured twice throughout his five year career in the DEA; once during a shootout with a drug trafficker in Mexico, where he was shot in the shoulder, and the other was when his apartment was set on fire by a local drug dealer in New York. As a DEA Special Agent, Cuevas' responsibilities include conducting surveillance, infiltrating drug trafficking organizations, arresting violators, confiscating illegal drugs, conducting money laundering investigations, collecting and preparing evidence; and testifying in criminal court cases. Through the five years he's spent with the DEA, Cuevas has experienced battling it out with dope dealers, bandidos, corrupt Federales and the Mexican Army, loco luchadores, guerillas, and other assorted bad guys. |
Cuevas is a friendly, down to earth and good-natured guy. He has moments where he's serious and he has moments where he can be a bit of a joker at times. Cuevas is a bit of a daredevil and he can be pretty reckless about his own safety. He's brave and he's committed to his work. Cuevas cares deeply for his friends and family. Cuevas speaks with a New York accent. His voice is deep and somewhat husky. Cuevas is athletic and has an interest in sports, mostly basketball and is skilled with a 3-point shot. He jogs regularly. He likes listening to hip hop, jazz, rock and classical music. Cuevas is half Spanish, and half Irish and his parents are devout Catholics, but Cuaves himself is not religious. He likes to think of himself as a freethinker. Cuevas never goes to sleep with the lights turned off and he likes to sleep with the radio or television turned on in his one bedroom apartment. Cuevas smokes from time to time, but rarely drinks alcohol. He prefers to be on the alert at all times. When at home, he cooks simple meals for himself. He has never been in a serious relationship before as his work keeps him busy. Cuevas suffers from claustrophobia and like most cops, he hates hospitals. |
